December 2009 I dropped everything, hopped on a plane, and holed up in an ugly apartment above a Skóluvörðustígur noodle shop where in the cold solitude and dimness of the extended Icelandic winter I gave myself a crash course in writing and home-recording a pop album.

Tambourines, claps, sleigh bells, and shakers; Xylophone and toy piano break-downs; Guitars and arpeggiated synths; Double-tracked vocals. Bits of Brian Wilson or Phil Spector. All a bit rough around the edges, but that’s the way I am.

I Know She Does

This is a single containing a couple tracks that were on my now discontinued “Ghosts” EP.

These songs are products of strange moods. I Know She Does is a simplistic, fuzzed-out, shitgaze anthem of joy. Engaged Withdrawal is a dark psych-pop journey.

To mark moving out my apartment I decided to put together this collection of demos, out-takes, and otherwise incompletely realized recordings that I’d been working on between May 2010 and February 2011.

James Rabbit is a project I used to be involved with. It is headed by pop-savant Tyler Martin of Santa Cruz, CA. Their side of the tape is very manic.

My side of the tape features slightly-alternate versions of a few songs that ended up making it onto the Dionysian Season full-length and a couple other songs as well all glued together with some audio collage segways.
