Favorite albums of last half-decade: Sixth in Sixes

I’m posting a series about my favorite albums that have come out since 2005.

XBXRX – Sixth In Sixes (2005)

A departure from their prog and hip-hop tinged experiemental lo-fi punk, Love Songs For The Blind. I’m not very good with genre names, but this is some sort of power violence punk. There are no keyboards, just intensity. And intensity might as well be the name of their live show as well. One show of theirs I went to in a warehouse they were constantly hopping off all the walls, got the whole room of a couple hundred to all duck down and jump at the same time during what I think is “Deaf Ears, Silent Voice,” and poured gasoline on the floor and set it on fire. My shoes were char black for months afterwards.
